“I’ll never make it through this,” can make me feel so sad. I take a deep breath and say these feel-good words to counteract and prevent that negativity. I made it through every day of my life. Why shouldn’t I make it through one more challenge?  Since I started saying this affirmation, I feel more confident in my ability to navigate life’s challenges. I realize that I will survive, and I choose to tell myself that I will not only survive but prosper.

I find a way every day.

“You can’t get anything right,” can completely undermine my self-confidence. I take a deep breath and say these feel-good words to bring back the energy that I need to make it through the day, or sometimes just make it through the hour. I know that I make mistakes, but I ferret out and find my mistakes. I do well because I make mistakes and I correct them as I go along. These feel-good words give me the confidence to start a project and continue. It makes me realize the value of interim results.  That’s a lot for one affirmation to do, isn’t it?

I trust myself to do well.

Counteracts anf inoculates against, “Everyone’s driving me nuts!” and similar thoughts. I say these feel-good words to counteract that anxious feeling. Why should give someone the power to drive me crazy? I shouldn’t, and I rarely do. Since I started saying this affirmation, I don’t get as mad at people. I realize that I have the power to feel the way that I want about things that are happening to me, and I choose to feel calm, not frantic.

I feel calm in my heart.

I feel calm in my heart.

I feel calm in my heart.

Inoculates and counteracts the negativity of, “I keep messing up,” and similar thoughts. There have been many times when I messed up while I was programming a software project or writing a book. There were even times when I thought it was perfect, but I had to start over because of a software glitch or because I accidentally threw something away.

The funny thing was that when I rewrote the story or program, I almost always wound up with better results. Repeating these feel-good words is much more powerful to me than saying, “I don’t mess up.”  Why should I lie to myself? I do mess up. This affirmation makes me recognize that mistakes are a natural part of life and that I can take advantage of them.

I can start over and do better.

I can start over and do better.

I can start over and do better.

Inoculates against, “No one loves me,” and counteracts the negativity of that type of thought because it reinforces the feeling that I deserve to be loved, and if someone doesn’t love me that’s okay. These feel-good words are much more powerful to me than saying “Someone loves me.”  The feel-good words give me courage. They make me realize that I cannot expect everyone to love me.

I am good enough to be loved.

I am good enough to be loved.

I am good enough to be loved.

Counteracts and inoculates against, “I can’t do anything right, “because it tells me that I do good things, and it tells me that I think about them.  It makes me realize I don’t have to just think about the things that I do wrong. Somehow, it is so much easier for me to think about all of the things that I do wrong. It’s empowering for me to give myself permission to think about all of the things that I do. I help people, animals, and plants. Why shouldn’t I think about these things? They have value!

I think about the good things that I do.

I think about the good things that I do.

I think about the good things that I do.

Inoculates against and counteracts against thoughts like, “I’ll never finish!” because if do things on time, I must be finishing something. It’s much more powerful to me than just saying “I will finish this.”  It counteracts my root fear.

“I’m not good for anything,” is so negative. When I feel this way I say this because if I’m helping friends and family I must be good for something. It’s much more powerful to me than just saying “I’m good for something.”  It’s much more specific.

I help friends and family when I can.

help friends and family when I can.
